The Social Security Commission (SSC), which governs the Social Security System (SSS), recently approved the hiring of a third party to conduct a survey in order to ensure SSS beneficiaries are properly covered.
“The project’s purpose is to identify the segment of the population that should benefit from social security protection but are not yet receiving any,” said SSC Vice Chairperson Aurora C. Ignacio. “We need to know the sociodemographic profile and the level of vulnerability to life’s contingencies, such as economic hardships or disasters.”
The survey, which is expected to gather around 4,000 respondents will provide the agency with data such as other sources of income under the income class; along with sociodemographic characteristics of the untapped workforce on the provincial, city/municipality, and barangay levels.
