Blackwater Elite secured a third seed in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals after their 112-104 victory over the Alaska Aces last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. nearly earned a triple-double for Blackwater with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists; while Shej Roi Sumang scored 18 points; and Allein Maliksi added 15.

The Elite pulled away in the latter part of the final quarter with back-to-back hits from Rey Mark Belo and a triple by Sumang to turn a 93-all count into a 102-96 spread.

Alaska made its final push to come to within 106-104, but a three-pointer by Rabeh Al-Hussaini and three more points from Sumang iced the win for the Elite.

With a 7-4 record, the Elite is already assured at least a number three seed./ASC, WDJ
