Two earthquakes, which occurred within minutes of each other, struck Cauayan early Friday morning.
The first tremor, a 2.5-magnitude quake, struck at 12:42 a.m.; while the subsequent 1.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 12:43 a.m.
According to bulletins from Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), no damages were reported as a result of the events.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected.
While the epicenters of both tremors were pinpointed north of the town, Phivolcs did not identify the second quake as an aftershock of the preceding tremor./WDJ
