Two injured after hospital guard’s firearm discharges

Two people were injured recently after a firearm belonging to a Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital security guard discharged while he was on duty.
Police identified the two injured victims as 17-year-old Danico Soliven, a resident of Cadiz City; and 70-year-old Benvinido Hacermeda of Victorias City.
Based on information provided to police by the security guard in question, Pio Tanate, Jr., he was on duty at the adult intensive care unit, when his Norinco 9mm service pistol discharged.
The bullet ricocheted off the floor causing damage.
The victims were immediately treated for minor injuries, while Tante immediately surrendered his firearm and had the incident recorded by police./DGB, WDJ
