Kaya FC-Iloilo continues to dominate the ongoing 2019 Philippines Football League with a 5-0 win over Philippine Air Force FC last Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
Defender Alfred Osei opened scoring in the 16th minute off a cross from forward Eric Giganto. The latter then assisted in doubling the lead six minutes later after offering up a pass to striker Jordan Mintah.
The Ilonggo side went into halftime up 2-0.
Shortly into the restart, after Kaya midfielder Arnie Pasinabo was brought down inside the box, striker Jovin Bedic successfully converted a penalty for a 3-0 lead.
Kaya forward Darryl Roberts, a second half substitution, made it 4-0 in the 69th minute; while Mintah went on to secure a brace, scoring his second goal in the 83rd minute.
“I am happy for the five straight wins and I am looking forward to how we can continue,” said Kaya FC-Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida. “We have three crucial games coming up, [they] will be a test whether we can continue the streak or not.”/ASC, WDJ
