Ceres-Negros FC follows their recent exit from the 2019 AFC Cup with a 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) match against Mendiola FC tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
While the Bacolod City-based side currently sits fourth on the PFL table, they also have two games in hand against second place Green Archers United and Stallion-Laguna FC, who currently sits in third. They also have one game in hand against first place Kaya FC-Iloilo.
Tonight is Ceres FC’s first PFL match since their 8-0 demolition of Global Makati FC at the beginning of the month.
For Mendiola, they are coming off a 6-3 loss to Kaya, along with their recent match against Makati abandoned after kickoff was delayed.
“The status of the said match shall be referred to the [Liga Futbol Inc.] Board for its decision,” the PFL said in a statement. “This is simply an isolated case, which shall be dealt with immediately and accordingly.”
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Kaya FC meets Philippine Air Force FC at 4:00 p.m./ASC, WDJ
