Outgoing house speaker, Pampanga second district Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, is expected to visit the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP) tomorrow as part of her final “sentimental journey,” a trip around the country where she visits major projects completed during her tenure as president.
The NNNP was declared a national park through Presidential Proclamation No. 895, which she signed in 2005. The declaration notes the park is situated across several localities including Talisay City, Silay City, Victorias City, Cadiz City, Sagay City, San Carlos City, EB Magalona, Murcia, Toboso, Calatrava, and Don Salvador Benedicto.
It also placed the area under the protection of RA 7586, or the National Integrated Protected Areas System Act of 1992.
The former president is expected to arrive at Bacolod-Silay Airport at 2:30 p.m., where she will hold a briefing on the developments on the airport’s proposed expansion projects.
Macapagal Arroyo recently visited the Biomass Power Plant in San Carlos City and boarded a vessel from Bacolod City to Dumangas in Iloilo./DGB, WDJ
