Barangay Ginebra beats NLEX in the Commissioner’s Cup

Stanley Pringle made an instant impact on Barangay Ginebra San Miguel following his recent trade from NorthPort Batang Pier, contributing 16 points and eight rebounds in their 100-85 victory over the NLEX Road Warriors in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup last Sunday at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee led the win with 37 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists; while LA Tenorio added 11 points; and Gregory Slaughter scored 10 markers.
Barangay Ginebra leaned on Pringle and Brownlee early to establish a 27-17 edge. NLEX then pulled close in the second period but late hits from Brownlee and Tenorio gave Ginebra a 50-42 halftime edge.
Barangay Ginebra broke loose in the third quarter behind Brownlee, Pringle, and Tenorio as the lead reached 14 before going up to its highest at 27 points in the fourth period./ASC, WDJ
