The Cignal HD-Ateneo Blue Eagles took Game 1 of the 2019 PBA D-League finals after their 101-66 demolition of the CEU Scorpions last night at the San Juan Arena.
George Isaac Go led the win with 17 points, while Ilonggo forward Ferdinand ‘Thirdy’ Ravena III scored 13, and Negrense player Samjosef Belangel added 12.
CEU looked threatening in the first quarter after going up 12-9 before Cignal HD-Ateneo unloaded a massive run following three triples from Go and inside hits from Belangel for a 25-16 edge.
CEU clawed back early in the second to get the score to within 30-20 but consecutive triples from Ravena, Tyler Tio, and Angelo Kouame built a 54-31 halftime advantage for Cignal HD-Ateneo.
Their lead grew further in the second half as they hit triple after triple, building to their largest lead of 98-60./ASC, WDJ
