Current department head already confirmed his resignation

Negros-based environmental group Green Alert Network (GAN) is seeking a new head for the Negros Occidental Provincial Environment and Management Office (PEMO) with GAN founder Rusty Biñas stating, “It is time for PEMO to have new blood.”
“The issue [of] illegal structures in the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP) is one of the responsibilities of PEMO because of the Integrated Social Forestry (ISF) Associations in Negros Occidental,” Biñas said.
ISF is composed of producers, or farmer-members, who take part in environmental consumerism and growth within the province.
The GAN official added, a new head will also mean the possibility of a “new approach [to] solving and addressing environmental concerns.”
Meanwhile, the current head of PEMO, Atty. Wilfred Ramon Peñalosa, earlier confirmed his resignation once outgoing Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. steps down on June 30.
He cited “personal reasons” for his resignation./DGB, WDJ
