Negrense boxer Arthur Villanueva will be challenging World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight champion Nordine Oubaali of France next month, July 6, at the Barys Arena in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
“I learned a lot from my previous fights,” Villanueva said in an interview with Boxing Scene. “Even though I wasn’t successful in winning the belt that time, I picked up things I can use against Oubaali.”
“I’m expecting a very tough fight,” he added.
This fight will be Villanueva’s third world title belts after earlier losing to former International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion McJoe Arroyo and former World Boxing Organization bantamweight title holder Zolani Tete.
Meanwhile, Oubaali said he is expecting a good fight.
“The fans can expect great entertainment because this collision with Villanueva has all the ingredients to be a really explosive fight,” he said.
The Negrense enters the fight with a 32-3-1 win-loss-draw record, including 18 stoppage wins; while Oubaali carries an unblemished 15-0-0, with 11 knockout wins./ASC, WDJ
