TNT KaTropa recently took down the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, 114-88, in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Terrence Jones flirted with a triple-double for TNT on 40 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists; while Roger Pogoy dropped eight triples for 31 markers.
KaTropa broke away from a tight contest in the second period behind Jones and Pogoy for a 40-26 advantage. The Fuel Masters countered with a rally to tie the score at 52-all.
The game was still tight in the third when Jones and Pogoy anchored another run for KaTropa as they achieved their largest lead of the game at 114-83 on a basket by Jeth Troy Rosario.
The game, however, was extra physical as it saw the ejection of KaTropa’s team consultant Mark Dickel, siblings Anthony and David Semerad, Fuel Masters head coach Louie Alas, and Jason Perkins three minutes into the game.
More flagrant and technical fouls were called afterwards, the last one resulting in the ejection of Fuel Masters’ Calvin Abueva, who sent Jones down to the floor with a clothesline hit./ASC, WDJ
