LOPTTA-USLS earns several medals in table tennis

The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association- University of St. La Salle (LOPTTA-USLS) team, which represented the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) in the 2019 PRISAA National Games, which closed last week in Davao City, took home several medals.
John Paul Gubaton captured gold in the men’s singles event, while Niel John Lauren and Mariella Mabaquiao conquered the mixed doubles competition.
Meanwhile, both the men and women’s teams won silver.
Among bronze medal winners included Lauren in the men’s singles event, along with James Saligumba and Cris Lester Rejon in the men’s doubles competition.
WVPRISAA were named overall champions, winning a total 455 medals, capturing 212 gold, 146 silver, and 97 bronze medals.
Region VII finished in a distant second place, behind by over 100 medals. They took home a total 347, winning 139 gold, 128 silver, and 80 bronze medals./WDJ
