Two-time defending Philippines Football League (PFL) champions Ceres-Negros FC faces Stallion-Laguna FC today in the relaunched 2019 PFL at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in the Malate section of Manila. The league initially rebranded itself as the Philippine Premier League (PPL); however, after a delayed launch and conflict with the league operator, the PPL folded after its opening week and reverted to its original format.
The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m., following the conclusion of Kaya FC-Iloilo versus Green Archers United.
Aside from the PFL, Ceres FC is also competing in the 2019 AFC Cup and has already qualified for the knockout stage.
The Negrense club will be playing in the ASEAN Zone semifinals, where they face defending V.League 1 champions Hanoi FC in a two-match series. On the other side of the bracket, 2018 Vietnamese Cup champions Becamex Bình Dương FC meets 2018 Liga 1 runners-up PSM Makassar of Indonesia.
