Marañon to newly-elected officials: Work towards improving the province
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Outgoing Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. offered a message to newly-elected officials across the province and called on everyone to work towards the improvement of the province.
Marañon also said he would be available for “unsolicited advice.”
During last week’s Direction-Setting and Strategic Planning Workshop, which took place in Hinoba-an, the outgoing governor offered his appreciation to the provincial government staff.
He also discussed programs introduced during his time in office and lauded those who cooperated with his administration.
Marañon will be replaced by his vice governor, Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson, who will be taking his oath of office on June 29.
Lacson won the governorship handily after defeating Dacongcogon Farmers Producers Cooperative chair, Atty. Rolando Parpa, 805,010 votes to 44,590./DGB, WDJ
