Negros Occidental Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday announced he would be taking his oath of office on June 29. He was originally supposed to be sworn-in alongside Vice Governor-elect Jeffrey Ferrer yesterday.
The newly-elected governor noted, even though the election is over, the merger between Love Negros and the United Negros Alliance will continue.
He added, he is currently forming a team to ensure a smooth transition.
Lacson won the governorship handily after defeating Dacongcogon Farmers Producers Cooperative chair, Atty. Rolando Parpa, 805,010 votes to 44,590.
Ferrer, meanwhile, ran unopposed./DGB, WDJ
