Following last Monday’s midterm elections, the Iloilo City General Services Office (GSO) began conducting a clean-up drive, deploying over 160 street sweepers to collect garbage at polling precincts, including leaflets, food waste, among other items.
According to GSO head Joren Sartorio, polling precincts are just the beginning as the crew will eventually clean up campaign materials pasted on walls and strewn along the road.
“We have already planned out what we will do,” he affirmed.
Sartorio added, the collected waste will be brought to a landfill in Barangay Calahunan, located in the city’s Mandurriao district./WDJ
