A total of 493 teams from across the country are expected to compete in the upcoming Ceres Cup, which begins this weekend in Talisay City. The competition will be played across various venues including the Ceres FC North Field, Sta. Maria Football Field, and Carlos Hilado Memorial State College football field.

Teams will each field seven players and compete in a variety of divisions including Boys 11 (Born 2008 and after), 14 (Born 2005 and after), 16 (Born 2003 and after), 12 (Born 2007 and after), 15 (Born 2004 and after), and 18 (Born 2001 and after); Girls 14 (Born 2005 and after) and 16 (Born 2003 and after); Mixed 9 (Born 2010 and after) and 10 (Born 2009 and after); Ladies 18 (Born 2001 and after), Men 40 (Born 1979 and after); along with Men’s and Ladies Open competitions.

According to Ceres FC manager Leo Rey Yanson, the event seeks to provide football enthusiasts the opportunity to foster and exhibit sportsmanship in a competitive, safe, and friendly environment./ASC, WDJ
