Comelec warns Moises Padilla landowners not to erect roadblocks

By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Moises Padilla advised local landowners against erecting roadblocks that would prevent voters from reaching polling precincts.

In a radio interview, Task Force Moises Padilla head, Atty. Jessie Suarez, said the Comelec ordered the Philippine Army to deploy one of their units to the town’s Crossing Magallon.

Suarez warned landowners that installing barricades on roads can be considered an election-related offense.

The army has also been ordered to use their trucks and service vehicles to transport registered voters to polling precincts.

The town had been placed under Comelec control earlier this month after a series of shooting incidents claimed the lives of two councilors running for reelection, along with a former town official./DGB, WDJ
