San Miguel ties series 2-2

The San Miguel Beermen rode on June Mar Fajardo’s near perfect performance, scoring a 114-98 victory over the Magnolia Hotshots in Game 4 of the 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven finals series last Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The win ties up the series 2-2.
Fajardo drained 13 of his 14 field goals and five of his six free throws to finish with 31 points, along with 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, Terrence Romeo contributed 18 markers, including three outside conversions; Chris Ross scored 15 points; Christian Standhardinger – 13; and Alex Cabagnot – 11.
Holding to a 54-47 halftime edge, the Beermen scored consecutive hits from Fajardo to push their lead to 61-47. The Hotshots rallied to several single-digit deficits but triples from Ross and Romeo increased SMB’s lead back to 85-69.
The Hotshots made their final push and got as close as 87-80 in the fourth period but the Beermen, behind Romeo and Standhardinger, pushed their lead back up to 105-88./ASC, WDJ
