A small commercial boat sank Sunday night as it was docking at the Banago port in Bacolod City.

Philippine Coast Guard-Bacolod City (PCG-Bacolod) station commander, Lt. Commander Ludovico Librilla, said M/J Nur-Shena was transporting wood from the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and was executing docking maneuvers at the port when, as it was securing mooring lines, the ship suddenly sank.

The situation prompted PCG personnel to assist the boat’s crew.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Librilla said they determined the vessel had a hole in its hull which caused flooding inside the boat.

The PCG commander said they immediately installed an oil spill boom around the vessel as they learned from the crew that the vessel was carrying a drum of oil./DGB, WDJ
