Approximately P200,000 worth of property was destroyed over the weekend following a fire that gutted a home along Magsaysay Street in Barangay Zone 12, Talisay City.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Joelan Villaruz, arson investigator for the Talisay City Bureau of Fire Protection, said their station received a fire call around 12:20 p.m. claiming a home owned by a certain Eriberto Diaz was ablaze.

Firefighters immediately responded and doused the flames until a “fire out” was declared around 1:07 p.m.

Villaruz said the fire reached “1st Alarm” status, noting, firefighters from Bacolod City also responded to the incident.

Diaz’ home was completely gutted, while two neighboring houses were damaged.
