WVRAA reclaims secondary boys’ football title

The Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) recently reclaimed the 2019 Palarong Pambansa secondary boys’ football title at the Davao City–University of the Philippines Sports Complex. Their 2-1 win over the Central Visayas sealed their first championship in four years.

Heading into the second half down 1-0, Jaime Rosquillo of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo scored the equalizer for the WVRAA with a header off a corner kick. Negrense Jens Moreno then scored the decisive goal later in the period.

Rosquillo was later named MVP and Best Defender, while Anthony Bedia took Best Goalkeeper, Luis Clauor – Best Midfielder, and Lorent John Jayaon – Best Striker.

Meanwhile, the WVRAA earlier lost to the Central Visayas in the finals of the elementary boys’ division./ASC, WDJ
