Tay Tung gymnast wins three gold medals

Kiana Alagaban of Bacolod Tay Tung High School captured three gold medals in gymnastics yesterday in the ongoing 2019 Palarong Pambansa at the University of the Immaculate Conception in Davao City.

She triumphed in the individual all-around; clubs; along with the team event with Althea Descutido and Danielle Jamelo.

The Tay Tung gymnast also won bronze in the ropes event.

Meanwhile, in swimming, Silay City native Alexie Kouzene Cabayaran captured two additional gold medals in elementary girls’ swimming, winning the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter freestyle relay with Chrisella Los Banes, Allah Lopez, and Kriztel Napallatan; Jeannelyn dela Torre and Chiara Regino took gold and bronze, respectively, in the 50-meter breaststroke; Ariel Alegarbes and Vincent Rectra won silver and bronze, respectively, in the 50-meter breaststroke; and Jenny dela Cruz earned gold in the 50-meter breaststroke.

In other events, Seth Hendrik Porquez and Jean Durana won gold in taekwondo and Althea Angel Bayalas also captured gold in elementary girls’ athletics./ASC, WDJ
