In observance of this year’s Lenten season, Hotel Sogo gave away thousands of bottled waters for free to parishioners and travelers last Maundy Thursday, April 18, 2019, as part of its ‘Kwaresma campaign.’

Six Hotel Sogo branches nationwide including Cainta, Novaliches, Avenida, Harrison Pasay, Tarlac, and Cebu has set up their respective booths to distribute ready-to-drink bottled waters to the people who practiced Visita Iglesia.

These simultaneous activities aimed to aid and reduce people’s thirst while doing their Holy Week activities especially this hot summer season.

Some of the efforts are coordinated with nearby major churches and local barangay units. Hotel Sogo Novaliches branch set up their booth near Shrine of Our Lady of Divine Mercy, while Harrison Pasay branch positioned near Baclaran Church, Tarlac branch in San Sebastian Cathedral in Tarlac, and Cebu branch near Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu.

On the other hand, Hotel Sogo Cainta branch stationed near the Our Lady of Antipolo Shrine to give free bottled waters to the influx of ‘Alay Lakad’ devotees. The Avenida branch which is near the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene mounted its booth in front of their hotel building.

This is part of Hotel Sogo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) under its Sogo Cares program, which aimed to give back to the community by conducting different community services, relief operations, donations, and medical missions.
