Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. welcomed a delegation from Taiwan earlier this week during the Philippine-Taiwan Agriculture Forum, which was held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.

The gathering sought to develop partnerships to develop agricultural enterprises for the benefit of local farmers.

The contingent from Taiwan was led by Safe and Modern Agriculture Technology Promotion Society advisor, Dr. Wang Chun-Hsiung, who discussed various agricultural practices that have helped develop young farmers in Taiwan.

Also joining him were Central Taiwan Agricultural Cooperative chairman, Dr. Ma Yu-An; outstanding farmer award recipients; among others.

According to Negros Occidental provincial agriculturist, Atty. Japhet Masculino, the province will adopt Taiwanese agricultural technology with future plans for local farmers to produce and export goods to the international market./WDJ
