PSTMO to deploy over 200
personnel to Iloilo City churches
Amid the ongoing Holy Week observance, the Iloilo City Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) will be deploying 245 personnel for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, which begin tomorrow.
PSTMO head Jeck Conlu said personnel will be stationed at churches across the city to maintain public safety.
“We already coordinated with the churches [on] their schedules and routes of their processions,” he pointed out. “We already have the deployment plan and [are] ready to secure the safety of the public throughout the celebration of Holy Week.”
The city official also advised the public of expected traffic congestion, particularly associated with Good Friday processions.
Meanwhile, as of last Monday, a prayer room has been set up at Iloilo City Hall for the Holy Week observance.
“We would like to encourage the public, especially City Hall employees, to pause for a while and offer a prayer,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III.
The room, which is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is located at Penthouse 1./WDJ
