DOH-CHD: The highest in Region VI

The number of dengue-related fatalities in Negros Occidental has reached 14, according to the latest monitoring by the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD).
Based on the 11th DOH-CHD morbidity week, a weekly report documenting issues related to various disease, the province currently has the highest number of dengue-related deaths in Region 6.
Aklan, Iloilo, and Iloilo City follow with three recorded cases.
Dengue cases throughout the region currently tally 4,347 as of March 16. The number is a 142 percent increase from the same period last year, which recorded 1,794 cases and 11 fatalities.
Negros Occidental alone recorded a 98 percent increase with 1,450 cases as compared to 733 in 2018./DGB, WDJ
