NOPPO, BCPO finalize security preparations

Both the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) are finalizing security preparations for this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival, which is set to begin next week, April 8, and run until Palm Sunday, April 14.
BCPO spokesperson, Police Major Ariel Pico, said the city’s police force will augment security for the event, although he is unable to say how many would be deployed.
He explained the augmentation request also need approval of their superiors in Police Regional Office-6.
The BCPO official added, the overall security for the festival site at the Panaad Park and Stadium falls under NOPPO, while BCPO and other force multipliers will handle the outside perimeter.
NOPPO spokesperson, Police Major Edison Garcia, meanwhile, also did not state the full details of their security preparation. However, he stated NOPPO has already conducted a meeting in preparation for the event and they are in the process of finalizing security plans./DGB, WDJ
