The Escalante City Coliseum recently hosted the Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) Congress and Leadership Training. CIC is a school-based youth organization accredited by the Office of the Ombudsman.

The event, which gathered CIC youth leaders from across the Western Visayas, was organized by the Office of the Ombudsman-Region VI (Ombudsman-6) and Department of Education-Region VI.

Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Paul Elmer Clemente served as keynote speaker for the event and addressed the assembly during opening rites. In his speech, he advised participants to promote a culture of integrity and use common sense.

Also present for the event were Ombudsman-6 director, Atty. Pio Dargantes; Zeny Lastimosa of the Department of Education; Escalante City Mayor Eddie Montero; among others./WDJ
