Calatrava native John Michael Zulueta captured two International Boxing Organization (IBO) minimumweight titles over the weekend at the Gaisano Grand Mall in Bacolod City. His unanimous decision win over Ariston Aton earned him the IBO Oceania and Oriental minimumweight belts.

Zulueta was the early aggressor as he pummeled the Cebuano opponent with multiple combinations, including a huge left straight.

Aton attempted to turn things around in the second half of the bout but Zulueta regained his dominance with enough counterpunches to secure favorable scores.

With the victory, the 23-year-old Negrense maintained his unbeaten 10-0-2 win-loss-draw record.

Meanwhile, Negrense Joepher Montano bagged the Asia Boxing Federation light welterweight belt after a sixth round stoppage win over Rodel Wenceslao.

The Bago City native Montano immediately imposed his presence with powerful hits, ending the match in six rounds and improving his record to 10-4-2, including nine knockout wins./ASC, WDJ
