The head of the Sipalay City Police Station was recently relieved from his post.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, revealed he issued a relief order for Police Major Anthony Grande last week.

He explained Grande’s relief was not connected with last week’s ambush in the city’s Barangay Maricalum but pointed out the relieved police official earlier failed to submit the names of personnel who are possibly related local candidates in the upcoming 2019 midterm polls.

Baleros said Grande’s negligence violated a Commission on Elections resolution.

The provincial police chief added, Grande’s replacement is Police Major John Joel Batusbatusan, while the former was reassigned to the Antique Police Provincial Office./DGB, WDJ
