As part of the “I Love Visayan Sea Campaign,” a clean-up drive was conducted last month along two kilometers of coastline in Capiz. The project collected a total of 5,540 kilograms of trash.
Capiz Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Public Information Officer Lorelyn C. Ofalla cited the waste audit and revealed food wrappers made up most of the waste, comprising a third of the collected refuse.
Also prominent among the waste were plastic bags and foam packaging.
