Ayala Capitol Central Mall in Bacolod City recently launched “No Plastic Wednesday,” a campaign seeking to limit the use of plastics.

The mall recently partnered with Cauayan’s Danjugan Island and SWEEP, or Sea Waste Education to Eradicate Plastic, to push the initiative.

According to Mikel S. Claur of the Ayala Land Malls Inc. Bacolod City marketing department, the campaign serves as an “awareness drive” to inform shoppers of the effects of plastic on the environment.

The campaign also invited environmentally-friendly producers, such as Bacolod City-based online vendor Meraki Philippines, to take part in the launch./WDJ
