Incumbent Senator Grace Poe arrived in Bacolod City to campaign for her reelection and to join her adoptive Negrense mother Susan Roces, who is in the city as part of the ongoing La Consolacion College-Bacolod centennial celebration.
While in the city, the senator visited the Burgos Public Market and talked with local youth in Barangay Estefania.
In a radio interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Poe said she doesn’t have the political machinery and is relying on friends and visiting places.
She said running independently is difficult but said her schedule is much more convenient and flexible.
Meanwhile, when asked about topping senatorial surveys, Poe characterized herself as “very truthful with her job” and that “she will only vote for things that would benefit the people.”
“People appreciated that I’m independent,” she added./DGB, WDJ
