In response to the recent outburst by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar, against a police officer involved in robbery extortion activities, the head of the National Police Commission-Region VI (Napolcom-6) yesterday said they do not tolerate ‘scalawag’ police officers.

In a radio interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Napolcom-6 director, Atty. Joseph Celiz, said police officers in the region should remember the oath they took upon accepting their job in public service.

Celiz said cops do not have a reason to enter into illicit activity since their salaries were increased.

In addition, the entire Philippine National Police force is already doing its best to clean up their public image.

The law enforcement official further added, he will continue to keep an eye of all police stations in the region and make sure their work and credibility are maintained./DGB, WDJ
