Lopue’s-La Salle picks up five gold medals

 

The Lopue’s-La Salle seniors and youth table tennis teams, which represented Negros Occidental in the 2019 Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet in Bacolod City, picked up five gold and three silver medals, along with one bronze medal.

The Lopue’s-La Salle senior men’s team, composed of John Paul Gubaton, James Saligumba, Cris Lester Rejon, Niel John Lauren, and Nelgen John Albao, captured the championship, marking a three-peat for the province.

Gubaton also won the senior men’s singles title and Mariella Mabaquiao took the ladies’ title, while Cherrica Michelle Uytiepo and Catherine Samson won the senior women’s doubles event.

In addition, Mabaquiao, Samson, Uytiepo, Aishea Marie Appe, and Natalie Louise Librando won silver in the senior ladies’ division after losing to Central Philippine University.

In the senior men’s doubles event, James Saligumba and Cris Lester Rejon came in third place.

Meanwhile, in the youth division, Micah Tanate, Ayumi Grace Iida, Alyssa Kyla Tolosa,Yamana Montero, and Glieza Shane Maari Cordova captured silver; while Iida and Cordova won silver in doubles.
