The MV Star Legend, a vessel operated by Windstar Cruises, docked at the Cagban Port at resort destination Boracay last week.

“The arrival of MV Star Legend gives us another opportunity to showcase the island,” said Department of Tourism-Region VI director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas.

The ship brought an estimated 208 passengers, who spent around seven hours at the tourist hotspot taking in various sites including White Beach, D’Mall, and Puka Beach.

Earlier this year, during the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival, Japanese cruise ship MV Pacific Venus docked in Iloilo City.

At the time, Catalbas called the development, “A good start for Iloilo City in the cruise tourism industry.”

The director went on to say she hopes the city will continue to receive cruise ships as it will position the Western Visayas as “an ideal destination for international cruise ships.”/WDJ
