A 28-year-old woman was found dead and buried in a shallow grave at the back of her house Saturday morning after allegedly being killed by her live-in partner in Barangay Lemery, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Girlie Masota.

Calatrava municipal police chief, Police Major Rocky Desear, said, based on eyewitness accounts, Masota was involved in an altercation over money last week with her live-in partner, 79-year-old Pedrom Britanico.

Witnesses claimed, following the argument, Britanico left the house wearing blood-stained pants and looking for a shovel.

A subsequent post-mortem examination determined Masota sustained multiple stab and slash wounds across her body.

Britanico voluntarily submitted himself to barangay officials and was turned over to the Calatrava Municipal Police Station, where he is currently detained./DGB, WDJ
