Negros Occidental sends 186 student-athletes

Negros Occidental sent a total of 186 student-athletes to this year’s Batang Pinoy Visayas qualifying leg, which opened over the weekend at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

The competition is scheduled to run until March 2.

Student-athletes will be competing in a variety of events including archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, dancesport, futsal, karatedo, lawn tennis, pencak silat, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, and beach volleyball.

Meanwhile, cycling, gymnastics, judo, muay, rugby football, triathlon, weightlifting, wrestling, and wushu are no longer subject to qualifying rounds and will be contested in the national competition.
