Yap named to All-Star team

Rain or Shine Elasto Painters’ James Yap, an Escalante City native, was named to the All-Star team and will be playing for the South in the PBA All-Star Game next month in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

This is the 16th time the Negrense has been voted as a starter in the annual event, tied with Paul Asi Taulava of the NLEX Road Warrios for the most appearances in the All-Star Game.

Joining Yap on the South side include June Mar Fajardo of the San Miguel Beermen, Andy Mark Barroca of Magnolia Hotshots, and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel players Gregory Slaughter and Earl Scottie Thompson.

Meanwhile, the North team is comprised of LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Paul Lee of the Magnolia Hotshots, Marcio Lassiter of San Miguel Beermen, and Calvin Abueva of Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters.

All-Star game festivities are scheduled to run from March 29 to 31./ASC, WDJ
