The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6), in partnership with SM City Iloilo and the Iloilo chapter of the Federation of Senior Citizens Affairs of the Philippines (FSCAP), will be holding an event for senior citizens on Valentine’s Day, February 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the SM City Iloilo Northpoint.

Dubbed “Senior Moments-A Love Affair with Senior Citizens,” the event will be dedicated to entertaining and treating seniors by providing a venue for them to showcase talents and share stories.

“The wealth of experience and wisdom they can share remains to be a very important guide [for] current leaders in addressing many of our societal problems, and an indispensable tool to nurture the next generation,” said DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas.

“This event is also a step towards highlighting the role of senior citizens in the tourism sector,” she added. “We hope to engage them in identifying opportunities for them to participate in the tourism sector and institutionalize the role they play.”/WDJ
