At least three people were injured late Tuesday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle in Barangay Haguimit in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victims as 18-year-old Rudy Demesana; 23-year-old motorcyclist Jay Karl Gumban; and his backrider, 18-year-old Teresita Baghanso.

Investigations carried out by La Carlota City Police Station traffic investigators found Demesana was crossing the road when he was struck by Gumban’s motorcycle.

The force of the impact threw Gumban and Baghanso into a swampy area.

All three sustained several bodily injuries and were rushed to the city’s district hospital for treatment.

Demesana was later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City to receive further medical attention.

The motorcycle, meanwhile, is presently impounded at the La Carlota City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
