The Department of Agriculture recently approved a P199.292 million rehabilitation and concreting project for the Bongol-Tambal-Quipot farm-to-market road in Janiuay, Iloilo.
The road runs 14.28 kilometers and will require the construction of two bridges.
A pre-procurement conference is scheduled for next Wednesday, February 13; with a completion time estimated to be within 397 days.
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. said the project came about after hearing a commencement speaker claim anyone who would propose constructing a bridge connecting Janiuay town proper to Barangay Quipot was “crazy.”
“I accepted the challenge and ordered to survey the area,” the governor stated.
Meanwhile, the provincial government will be providing a 10 percent counterpart fund, which totals around P20 million./WDJ
