Priest blames the Duterte administration
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
A priest who recently arrived in Negros Occidental claimed he was harassed by police officers and soldiers, accusing them of following him and taking pictures.
Fr. Marco Sulayao of the Philippine Independent Church said he was scheduled to attend a meeting with church officials in Negros last Wednesday. However, the church official said, while at the Iloilo Port, he was followed by three police officers and, upon arrival in Bacolod City, his group was being shadowed by seven soldiers in uniform.
Sulayao said they boarded a bus for San Carlos City and, upon arrival, they were surrounded by seven police officers, who took pictures of them before leaving.
He slammed both law enforcement and the military, calling their supposed actions “proof of government intimidation,” which he attributed to the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Watchmen Daily Journal has yet to receive a reaction from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and the Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade with regard to the allegations./DGB, WDJ
