In response to an order issued by Malacañan Palace, several stalls at Bacolod City’s Libertad Market that were found to be blocking roads were recently cleared by the Bacolod City government.
Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force head, Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda, said they will not allow vendors along the cleared areas from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. He noted, vendors are only allowed to sell their goods in front of the Libertad Market annex building along Amelia Avenue, and along Mabini Street.
Prior to clearing operations, Pineda, along with Bacolod City Police Office personnel, met with vendors.
He also affirmed, the streets along Libertad Market will remain clear of obstructions as long as everyone cooperates.
Both the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office and the City Legal Enforcement Unit have been assigned to monitor the area to ensure roads remain clear./DGB, WDJ
