Tribu Ilonganon, Guimaras win competitions

Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School won the Dagyang tribes dance competition while Guimaras won the Fiesta Pilipinas: Kasadyahan regional cultural competition, both of which took place during the closing of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival last weekend.
The winner of the Dagyang tribes dance competition took home P300,000. They also won Best in Choreography, Best Choreographer, and Best in Discipline.
Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School came in second place. They also took home individual awards, including Best in Costume, Best Costume Designer, and Best in Headdress.
Tribu Panayanon of Iloilo City National High School, which took third place, was also awarded Best in Street Dancing, Best in Performance, Best in Music, and Best Musical Director.
Meanwhile, in the Kasadyahan regional cultural competition, the group from the island-province, Hubon Guimarasnon sang Manggahan Festival, won P275,000. They also won Best in Choreography, Best Choreographer, Best in Performance, and Best Costume.
Tribu Tultugan of Maasin came in second place and was also named Best in Music and Musical Director.
In other awards, Pintaflores of San Carlos City, which came in fifth place, won Best in Street Dancing./WDJ
