Kabankalan City’s most wanted drug personality was gunned down last Thursday by unidentified gunmen in the city’s Barangay Hilamonan.

Police identified the fatality as Jose ‘Bogart’ Bugalon, Jr., a resident of the said city.

Based on investigations by Kabankalan City police, Bugalon was walking home when he was shot by the four bonnet-wearing gunmen aboard two motorcycles.

The suspects immediately fled north, while local residents rushed Bugalon to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

Police recovered a total of eight empty .45 caliber shells from the crime scene.

Kabankalan City police added, Bugalon has been under close surveillance, although the shooting occurred when there were no undercover cops present.
