After sustaining a slight tear to a ligament in his right knee, Columbian Dyip guard Jerramy King is currently unable to play in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup and is expected to be sidelined for at least two months.
The injury came during a game against the San Miguel Beermen.
“I went for a layup on Chris Ross and I fell down,” the player recounted. “My adrenaline helped me to play through the game but, after the game, I wasn’t able to walk anymore.”
King was one of the leading local scorers for the Dyip last season and a strong candidate for “Most Improved Player,” averaging 14.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
The American-born player added, he is relieved the injury wasn’t worse.
“I’ve heard a lot worse, like ACL (anterior cruciate ligament); I’m just glad it’s my PCL (posterior cruciate ligament),” he said. “I think I got lucky; it’s not that bad – two-to-three months is okay.”/ASC, WDJ
