Signal jamming begins on Saturday
Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Martin Defensor, confirmed mobile signals and internet access in Iloilo City will be jammed beginning on Saturday, January 26, for the Kasadyahan contest that day and the Ati-Ati tribes competition the following day.
The ICPO chief said the National Telecommunication Commission will suspend network service between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on those days.
Defensor, however, would not indicate the specific areas within the city where signals will be suspended.
Similar security measures have been implemented in previous years, with calls, text messaging, and mobile data was inaccessible within a three-kilometer radius of the tribe performance judging area./WDJ
